Chairman NAEAC Council HEC Prof Dr Ishtiaq A Rajwana Visited Hamdard University

Prof. Dr. Ishtiaq A. Rajwana, Chairman, National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC), Higher Education Commission, Pakistan, delivered an Awareness Seminar on Food Science and Technology on Tuesday 12 November 2019 at the Faculty of Engineering Sciences and Technology (FEST), Hamdard University, Madinat al-Hikmah, Karachi, Pakistan. Prof. Dr. Shabib ul Hasan, Vice Chancellor, Hamdard University and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Anwaar Manzar (TI), Dean FEST welcomed the Chairman NAEAC at Bait al-Hikmah, Hamdard University. After the meeting, the Chairman NAEAC visited the Idara-e-Said. Mr. Hakim Mohammad Usman, Deputy Director Programs and Idara-e-Said briefly explain the life, work, and achievements of the Founder Father Hakim Mohammed Said; his vision, love for Pakistan, and preserved memories. A tour of campus followed. Mr. Azhar Dilshad highlighted various areas of the City of Education, Science, and Culture during the campus visit. A visit to the Horticulture Research and Herbal Gardens at Faculty of Eastern Medicine followed, where Prof. Dr. Ghazala H. Rizwani, Dean Research, Hamdard University briefly explained the characteristics of planted species and related research work. The seminar venue was FEST conference room. The salient features of the seminar included an introduction of NAEAC council, details of the agriculture programs offered across Pakistan, and the accreditation process. The Chairman NAEAC appraised Hamdard University for the hospitality and predicted possible future leader in agriculture education in Karachi; especially in the Food Science and Technology business. The seminar was attended by the faculty and students. After the group photo session of participants of the seminar, a tour of Hub Dam was organized by the Hamdard University administration.

I received Prof. Rajwana from Jinnah International Airport, Karachi and dropped him to hotel on Monday 11 November 2019 evening. I had dinner with him and we have discussed a lot on Agriculture Education in Pakistan with focus on Food Science and Technology. Next morning, I picked him from hotel and reached Hamdard University, Madinat al-Hikmah for the Awareness Session. After completion of all activities mentioned in above paragraph, I dropped him to Dadabhoy Institute of Higher Education, Main Campus, Karachi.
