Meeting Minutes

The meeting was started with the Tilawat-e-Quran by Engr. Dr. Muhammad Faris, Assistant Professor and Program In-Charge. The convener, Engr. Dr. Tariq Javid, Associate Professor and Chairman welcome PhD faculty members and meeting was formally started with the first agenda item.

1. Research Strategy: Gaining the HEC PhD approved supervisor status and post-doc opportunities nearby through collaboration 

All members agree on formulation of a research strategy for career progress, i.e., towards faculty promotion and towards student grooming. For this agenda point, the discussion included holding seminar sessions and submission of review articles.  It was also discussed that the research terminology should be introduced in the first semester introductory course for each program. Furthermore, ideas toward research mindset and to promote research culture at the undergraduate level were discussed.

2. Service Model for the Profession: Gaining excellence in teaching and to offer service to the Hamdard industry through linkages

The professional practice and industrial linkages for each PhD faculty members were emphasized. Related discussion points included student internships and faculty industry visits. There was a specific focus on Hamdard Industry visits in order to provide professional services. The faculty members expressed their diverse opinion and views, however, it was agreed to strengthen the industry-academia linkages. Members were highlighted the overlap in all three agenda points.

3. Product Development Process: Each program should identify and adopt a product development model of respective discipline 

All faculty members agree to follow standards for product development to ensure national and international level acceptance. The discussion points include adoption of standards like FDA and relevant to product development appropriate to the program.

Meeting was adjourned with a vote of thanks by the chair to faculty members.
