Invited Speaker Session on Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said and Teaching Philosophy

On the great occasion of Saheed Hakim Mohammed Said's birthday, Industrial Relations Department, Faculty of Engineering Science and Technology (FEST) organized an invited talk titled "Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said and Teaching Philosophy". The invited speaker Mr. Shahab Tehzeeb, Assistant Professor, NED UET enlightened the participants of the memorial session at FEST Conference room, Hamdard University (Main Campus), about his teaching and learning experience at various Higher Education Institutes (HEIs); and how he able to incorporate the best from the practices and guidance from great Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said.

Mr. Shahab Tehzeeb, in his speech, highlights the role of teachers in personality development of students. He emphasized the current direction of research in technology advancements may lead a misdirection in the teacher role. As a consequence, teaching methodologies focusing to convert human to machine and machine to human are nothing but an effort wasted due to a natural conflict. Actual role of teachers should be to produce domain experts and in personality development of students. He shared many practical examples to further explain the subject matter. He decorated his speech with relevant poetry of famous Dr. Alama Muhammad Iqbal.
