Hamdard University Organized Faculty Development Session on Entrepreneurship

Hamdard University Faculty of Engineering Sciences and Technology (FEST) Industrial Relations Department (IRD) has organized a Faculty Development Session (FDP) on Entrepreneurship at the FEST conference room on Wednesday 15th June 2022. The resource person was Engr. Shoaib ur Rehman, Director Technology, Virtuosoft.PK. The session started with a welcome address by Dr. Maria Ali Ziaee, Assistant Professor with an overview of FDP and IRD activities at FEST. Engr. Shoaib started the session with a brief explanation of the entrepreneurial mindset that changes lives and shared his entrepreneurship experience in detail. He highlighted the vast amount of opportunities at the national level and encourages the participants to take initiatives toward an active role in a prosperous Pakistan. The session was ended by the vote of thanks by Dr. Muhammad Faisal Khan, Associate Professor & Manager IRD, and presented a shield to Engr. Shoaib ur Rehman as a token of memory. Students Speech Session on Selected Articles from Naqoosh-e-Seerat by Hakim Mohammed Said Shaheed

Hamdard University Department of Biomedical Engineering organized a student speech session on selected articles from Naqoosh e Seerat, a five-volume book collection, written by Hakim Mohammed Said Shaheed. The session was held at the Faculty of Engineering Sciences and Technology on Tuesday 14th June 2022. After Tilawat-e-Quran by Hafiz. Muhammad Dilawar Khan, Dr. Tariq Javid, Associate Professor & Chairman BME welcomed participants and highlighted the purpose of the session, to bring back the remarkable writings by Hamdard University's founding father for the young generation. The event organization committee pays special thanks to Bait al-Hikmah library for providing the book, Accn: # 241410. Engr. Dr. Muhammad Danish Mujib, Assistant Professor and BME Program In-Charge, announces the names of students for speeches. After completion of all speeches, Engr. Rimsha Siddiqui, Lecturer BME, concluded the session with a vote of thanks to student speakers and participants. It was agreed that there is a need for similar sessions in the future for youth.

Oral Presentation at Conference and Training Workshop Food Safety and Quality of Rice June 14-15, 2022

An oral presentation was held to disseminate the accepted abstract for the research work entitled, "Rice Quality from Soil Preparation to Market Product." The research team included Dr. Tariq Javid, Associate Professor & Chairman, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Dr. Javed Hussain Umrani, Assistant Professor, Food Science and Technology, and Dr. Hira Arshad, Assistant Professor, Food Science and Technology. 

Hamdard University Biomedical Engineering Department Students Visits

1. Friday 10th June 2022

HU BME students visited HU Taj Medica Complex Hospital for exposure to a modern healthcare facility located in Saddar, Karachi. Computed tomography is the major modality along with many others that students will get inside and know about the setup firsthand experience of the environment. HU BME is thankful to FEST IRD for arranging the industrial visit for students. 

2. Friday 3rd June 2022 

HU BME students visited HU Shifa ul Mulk hospital for exposure to an integrated modern healthcare facility established by the Hamdard Foundation to practice both Unani (Hikmat) and Modern medicine. The hospital provides free treatments to a large number of deprived community persons. Additionally, the medical services are free of charge for students, faculty, and staff of Hamdard University. The biomedical engineering department provides support to all four HU hospitals including the Shifa ul Mulk under the management of FHMS and QEC.
