Hamdard University Faculty of Engineering Sciences and Technology (HU FEST) faculty members attended a two-day workshop organized by Aga Khan University Technology Innovation Support Centre (AKU TISC). HU FEST faculty members are Dr. Tariq Javid, Associate Professor & Chairman, Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME), Dr. Muhammad Faris, Assistant Professor, BME, Engr. Mir Farooq Ali, Lecturer, BME, Dr. Ashfaque Ahmed, Assistant Professor, Department of Food Science and Technology, Dr. Tayyaba Asif, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology (Bio-Tech), Dr. Maria Ali Ziaee, Assistant Professor, Bio-Tech, Dr. Kinza Rafi, Assistant Professor, Bio-Tech, and Ms. Tooba Khan, Lecturer, Bio-Tech. The physical session was held at AKU stadium road campus. FEST Industrial Relations Department (IRD) arranged transportation service for faculty members from HU main campus to AKU and return. On day 1, Dr. Usman Khan, Associate, Fish & Richardson P.C. Washington D.C. USA was the resource person. He described to the participants about the intellectual property (IP), importance of patenting, and best practices for filling for IP. After the questions and answers session, Mr. Saleem Sayani, Director TISC & AKDN dHRC concluded the day 1 session with a vote of thanks to Dr. Khan and the participants. There were two sessions on day 2 sessions were organized online through a Zoom meeting. Dr. Saima Kanwal, Assistant Controller of Patents (Karachi Office) Intellectual Property Organization, Government of Pakistan, described national and international IP rights, and IP trends. Dr. Khan shared success stories and envisioned a possible road map ahead, especially in the national context. The day 2 session was concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Sayani.

Microprocessor and Interfacing Sample Assembly Language Program

The class (5th Semester BE BME 2020, Spring 2022 Semester) experimented with the sample assembly language program in Bery 8th Edition with EMU 8086. The program code in the book was extended a bit and a flowchart was created for in-depth understanding and relation to the earlier learning by the students.
